Recessive Lilacs are a color variety of the heritage Standard Bronze turkey. They breed true. This is the Lilac V.S. Asmundson created back in 1936 when he was studying a new slate mutation that came out of a bronze flock in California.

We have about 25 Mulefoot Pigs looking for a new home. Our Mulefoots are raised on a Certified Humane Farm on pasture and fed a soy free non gmo diet. We have a few that are registered, a couple that are registerable, and others who do not registerable. We have a couple boars as well along with a boarling. Price is $1.50 per pound live weight… add $200 for registered animals. Price is negotiable, especially if you take the entire herd.

La Flèche are a dual purpose breed, lay nice sized whitish eggs of good quality. Unique looking with their 'V' shaped comb, glossy black plummage and white earlobes. They are good foragers with an active but not flighty temperament and are not aggressive with people. They are a medium size bird with a large breast for their size. They are fairly slow growers but fatten well producing excellent quality meat. If you are looking for a conservation project that can still produce, La Flèche is a worthwhile breed. They are on the Critically Endangered List with the Livestock Conservancy with very few breeders nationwide.

We are so pleased to offer roving from our very own Dorset Horn sheep! This fiber started it's amazing journey growing on our sheep right here in the foothills of Western Maine. When shearing time came I carefully and quietly cut this wool off myself with a pair of old school hand shears. Then the very best of the wool was transported a few towns north to Bartlett Yarns, the most fabulous old woolen mill. This mill has been processing American grown fibers since 1821! Our own sheep's fleece was then scoured using only organic cleaning agents, carded and made into 1" round roving. We are so very pleased with the result! A sample of this roving has spun up into a fabulously durable and elastic yarn, (see picture below, credit M. Brace) This roving has very little VM, is free of kemp, will take dye well, and is wonderfully durable. Dorset Horn fiber is a medium type "down" wool, noted for it's elasticity or 'squish' factor. While it is not super 'skin-soft', many people are comfortable wearing it next to their skin. It is also well suited for outerwear such as hats, vests and sweaters as well as household textiles such as blankets and rugs. We are Se2Se participants so you may fill your Dorset Horn passport slot with this fiber, and jump into to the journey this American-Grown product is making, and help it become an American-Made product!

We have found minimal infrastructure needed for this lazier breed. We register our stock, all are 840 tagged, have been vetted with vaccines and health certs for intra-state travel.
